Carnatic Music Association of Nashville is a community based, not for profit, cultural association which is committed to preserving and promoting arts in the Nashville area. Avadhut was established solely with a purpose of promoting Indian Classical Music and Dance, organize shows from local talent and renowned artists from India.

Avadhut attempts to increase awareness of the Indian Classical arts in educational institutions in the Triangle area, concentrating on Wake county. As part of this program, we organize lecture demonstrations by visiting artists in schools. Avadhut has arranged a diverse set of programs each year with both vocal and instrumental concerts by various artists from the Indian sub-continent.

A dedicated executive committee who volunteer along with the support of members and community have helped us maintain a strong cultural presence in Nashville. Our mission is to arrange concerts and dance programs of South India. Among Avadhut’s objectives as a non-profit organization is promoting, preserving and propagating the fine art of Carnatic music across Nashville, we strive to educate and promote our unique cultural heritage into our younger generation by conducting musical camps to enrich their knowledge.

Involving musicians and the music industry in the creation of social activities and programs addressing and benefiting people and communities in economic distress –Music with a Mission.

We promise to our members and the community that we will remain dedicated towards our mission of promoting Indian Classical Music and Dance. We will also remain committed to bring a variety of shows for our members within our charter.

Membership to Avadhut is based on a calendar year. It is advisable to become a member earlier in the year. This not only helps the members to attend all the programs in the year but also helps the Avadhut board members to evaluate the financial situation earlier & schedule good concerts.
